“I absolutely love the work, and the challenge of rural medicine. For me, there is no other role like rural generalism. You get to practise the full spectrum of medicine where it is really needed in some of the most spectacular places in the world. It is so rewarding to work where there is a need and try to make a difference.”

Alex states he absolutely loves the work, and the challenge of rural medicine.

He and his family live on a small property not far from Gympie, which they share with a lot of wildlife and are actively working to regenerate the area.

“I love it that I can go for a walk around my place, possibly see our resident platypus and then 15 minutes later be in at work.”

He has three young robust daughters who keep him busy between tutus and hockey sticks however he also admits he is an absolute cricket tragic.
